Cosmetology is the art and science beautifying the hair, nails, and skin. A cosmetologist is an expert in applying cosmetic procedures, therapies, and treatments to beautify one’s outer appearance. And implementing cosmetic treatments to people’s hair, skin, and nails. Specific disciplines in cosmetology include hairstyling (haircutting and coloring), esthetics (skin care), makeup application, nail care (manicures and pedicures), and other beauty treatments.

ISO 17226 – Beauty Salon Services – Requirements and recommendations for the provision of service

ISO 22716, Cosmetics — Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) — Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices, provides guidance to documenting and regulating the production, control, storage, and shipment of cosmetic products. The standard’s guidelines will provide your organization with practical methods for managing the many factors that can affect product quality.

ISO 22715, Cosmetics — Packaging and labelling provides guidelines for manufacturers in the best practices for cosmetic packaging and labelling of all cosmetic products. This standard applies to products that fall under the category of cosmetics that are sold or given away as free samples.

ISO 16128, Cosmetics — Guidelines on technical definitions and criteria for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients. Its increases transparency above all for the manufacturers of cosmetic products. The standard defines how to numerically determine the degree of natural and organic origin making it easy to compare between individual raw materials and finished products.

CPC® and CC® tests technical knowledge of safety, health plus working knowledge with clients and financial principles and assesses your understanding of hazard analysis, accident investigation, safety audits, workers comp, product safety labor relations, and more.

CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL COSMETOLOGIST (CPC®)

This CPC® Certification indicates to employers, potential employers, regulatory agencies that you have the knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to a level of proficiency expected. It shows you are capable of working with little or no supervision with client.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma in Beauty Culture field plus Five qualifying years of work experience in Cosmetology

CERTIFIED COSMETOLOGIST (CC®)

CC® is focused on putting you on the right path to advance your career. We accept various combinations of education and experience, while providing a straight-forward application process.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  •  Minimum  Diploma in Beauty Culture field plus Three qualifying years of work experience
  •  Candidates who possess a valid certification with similar education and experience requirements may meet the education and experience criteria without the submission of transcripts.
  •  Two years of part time experiences with 25% or greater safety and health management activities may be substituted for one full-time year

 AWARD OF CERTIFICATION
